AMD HD 7000 Series Cards Getting Price Cuts

AMD is Getting ready for a wave of price cuts, so they can compete with what Nvidia is offering. AMD cards are excellent overclockers but they are no match to Nvidia's price to performance ratio and with this price cut AMD hopes to change that. Another reason why AMD is cutting prices is that the 7990 is rumored to be released this month and the 8000 series is coming out in Q4. They are also trying to cut price to match the rumored GTX 660 which incorporate the GK 104 chip under the hood which is a major threat to AMD mid range cards. The HD 7970 dropped its priced significantly since the launch of the GTX 680 and now is priced at $499. From launch till now the HD 7970 dropped its price by a $100. Other pricings are as follow: 
  • Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition: US $499
  • Radeon HD 7970: US $429 
  • Radeon HD 7950: US $349
  • Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition: US $299
  • Radeon HD 7850: US $249
