Blackberry 10 Device For Verizon Leaked

RIM is set to officially launch BB10 early next year and is expected to reinvent what we think of Blackberry. Last week some videos leaked online showing the gestures for navigating through BB10. Now we have some specs of a BB10 device codnamed Laguna and it is headed to Verizon with 4G LTE support. The device will have an unusual 4.2" screen with a HD+ display of 1280 X 768 and translates into a 355PPI which is a pretty astounding number. The phone will be powered by a dual core Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. The camera in the rear is an 8MP shooter capable of taking 1080P video. 16GB of onboard storage and an expandable microSD slot is available. All of this is running of a 1800mAh battery with BB10 inside.

Blackberry 10 L And N Series Devices Leaked

Last week at Blackberry Jam 2012 RIM showed us some of the features of Blackberry 10. Although RIM is set to officially launch BB10 early next year it seems like the OS is already nearly complete. We have seen the BB10 Dev alpha device numerous times but till now we have not seen any of the BB10 devices. Well here is a leak of future BB10 devices, this include the L and N series of devices. The L series is a full touch based phone and is targeted towards the general consumer. The N series in the other hand looks like the current Bold 9900 without the touch buttons and it also keeps the QWERTY keyboards RIM is known for. Personally i think that blackberry is a very good looking OS but the problem now is the ever growing competition. The competition might just force RIM in to bankrupcy, who knows how will blackberry be in this time next year ? But overall the touchscreen BB10 is to my likings.

Windows Phone 8 Ship Party 2012 Marks The Completion Of The Mobile OS

A few weeks back we reported that the Windows Phone team has finished the latest iteration of the OS and is ready for RTM. Now it seems like we have some confirmation of this story, yesterday the Windows Phone 8 ship party was held and it marks the completion of WP8 and is ready for manufacturers to implement on their devices. Last year WP7 Mango was completed on August 6 and devices started shipping in early November, so it seems like this year they are a bit late. But currently the new suggest that WP8 devices will start to go on sale on early November.

The Smartphone Revolution

The smartphone is by far one of the most popular tech device to date and more than 50% of the people in the face of the earth owns one. Here is an infograpic of this revolution by Dialphone. In this infographic they talk about the evolution of devices, uses of smartphones, major mobile operating systems, network evolution, and the processors powering modern smartphones. The first ever smartphone was the IBM Simon and that device was introduced in 1993 but the problem is that it is not so much easier to use. We fast forward to almost 20 years in the future and we now have smartphones like the Galaxy S III and the iPhone 5 which are both smart and easy to use. There are 4 major smartphone OS's currently in the market which are Android, iOS, Blackberry OS and Windows Phone. The pack is leaded by Android which has over 60% of the market share. The evolution of mobile networks have evolved throughout the years and now we have 4G LTE which is  capable of data speeds of up to 100 mbits/s. Finally we have one of the most essential piece of hardware which is powering the modern smartphone which is the processor. The are 5 major mobile processors which are Qualcomm's Snapdragon, Texas Instruments OMAP, Nvidia's Tegra lineup, Samsung's Exynos, and Apple's A series of chips. So this tells us we have been through so much in such a short period so who knows how the smartphone will look in the next 5-10 years.

TOP version: AMD HD 7970 GHz Edition GPUs boosted for new world records

True to the ROG approach of getting more out of leading technology, MATRIX HD 7970 uses the cream of the AMD HD 7970 28nm GPU crop, picked through rigorous selection in a similar fashion to the ASUS TOP process, which includes extreme heat and heavy-load stress testing. It arrives factory-tuned to 1100MHz, representing a 175MHz frequency gain compared to reference HD 7970 cards. Currently, MATRIX HD 7970 GHz Edition offers the fastest and most capable graphics card based on AMD technology, and can easily handle every DirectX® 11 game with completely smooth performance and all details set to ultra at 1080p and higher resolutions. Plus, a single MATRIX HD 7970 GHz Edition has the power and quad DisplayPort connectivity to support six-screen displays via AMD Eyefinity™ technology.

VGA Hotwire: accessible hardware-level overvolting puts enthusiasts in charge

VGA Hotwire affords easier DIY modification of voltages on MATRIX HD 7970 GHz Edition, simplifying the process by removing the need for complicated and risky soldering. Customers connect wires from dedicated headers on compatible ROG motherboards to VGA Hotwire connectors on MATRIX HD 7970 GHz Edition, after which changing voltages directly on the hardware level becomes possible via a variety of interfaces. The exclusive TweakIt utility is one such option, revised for MATRIX HD 7970 GHz Edition to offer a wider voltage modulation range, allowing quick changes by simply pressing the + and – keys. TweakIt further supports immediate full-rev activation of the dual 100mm fans. At a press, customers can set the fans to 100% speed for maximized airflow and instant cooling, a highly useful feature in overclocking and benchmarking scenarios. The card further includes an overclocking safe mode to quickly restore default settings should a tuning profile prove unstable and at-a-glance LED load indicators to ensure more informed and safer performance modification.

DIGI+ VRM with Super Alloy Power: greater output, extra reliability, and longer lifespan

MATRIX HD 7970 GHz Edition ships with massive 20-phase power delivery that supplies ample room for experimental performance tuning. Its DIGI+ VRM digital voltage regulation design augments precision overclocking capabilities, which are further supported by the use of hardened Super Alloy Power capacitors, chokes, and MOSFETs. All withstand much greater stress and heat due to the application of specially-formulated materials to increase reliability, power output, and overall card lifespan. The design also eliminates bothersome choke buzzing noise, unlike much tamer reference cards. All these and more enable the absolute best in overclocking potential and experiences.

GPU Tweak: world’s first quad-focus overclocking suite

For MATRIX HD 7970 GHz Edition, the exclusive GPU Tweak utility has been revamped, making better use of the card’s power through the world’s first quad-focus overclocking tool. With its friendly software interface, GPU Tweak enables deep GPU, video memory, voltage, and fan speed adjustments. The new edition adds VRM overclocking and loadline calibration, by that catering to casual overclockers and those dedicated to competitive benchmarking towards new world records. It is the most complete GPU Tweak yet, with tangible performance improvements guaranteed to users of all experience levels.

Tim Cook Represents Apple In Apologizing To The Public About The Apple Maps

Apple Maps have been receiving quite some negative feedback from customers. So for the first time in Apple history Tim Cook is apologizing to the customers and saying that they are extremely sorry for the maps they released for iOS 6. In his official statement he recommended either using Waze, Bing or Mapquest from the App Store. He also said that Google Maps and Nokia Maps can be accessed through the we browser.

To our customers,

At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.

We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.

There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.

While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.

Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.

Tim Cook
Apple’s CEO

They are expected to announce carrier pricing and availability of this device at the event. We are still not certain when will it go on sale of each carrier but my guess it will be available for purchase on the day itself or one week after that which is early November. Samsung recently announced that the 4 major carriers will be carrying this device so carrier support is no myth.
