GTX 660 Ti 3D Mark 11 Score Blows The HD 7950

Yesterday we reported that the GTX 660 Ti will be coming in two models. Then just recently a leak from Tweaktown's Facebook page shows a chart of the 3D Mark 11 scores. These scores show that the GTX 660 Ti is one beast of a card. The 660 Ti not only performs better than the midrange cards AMD has to give but it is also scored better than the HD 7950 in 3D Mark 11. The 660 Ti is slated to be priced around $300 and with that price and performance i blows away what AMD has to offer. This card is slated to be launched on August 16.

Samsung Getting Ready A 11.8" Tablet With Retina Display Resolution

The Samsung and Apple trial has once again revealed some valuable info. This time it revealed that Samsung is currently working on a tablet codenamed P10 which will have a resolution of 2560 X 1600 which is something like the retina display on the current iPad. Other specs include LTE and a 11.8" display. If you do the maths the P10 will have a pixel density of 256 PPI which is just 8 ppi lesser than the current iPad. Still this screen can be classified as a retina display. So we might be seeing a Galaxy Tab 11.8 very soon.

Microsoft Surface Tablet Will Officially Launch On October 26 With Windows 8

Last month Microsoft announced their very own tablet called Surface. This tablet brought many reactions by consumers, one of the reactions were "the first real tablet which can compete with the iPad". Windows 8 is launching on the 26 of october and now microsoft has confirmed that the surface will be launching on the same day. In my opinion i think that the surface is a very good tablet and is better than the iPad in many ways on of the way it is better is the productivity it can give to users.
“In fall 2012, we are launching Windows 8...Its success depends on a number of factors including the extent to which customers embrace its new user interface and functionality, successfully coordinating with our OEM partners in releasing a variety of hardware devices that take advantage of its features, and attracting developers at scale to ensure a competitive array of quality applications. We expect to incur substantial marketing costs in launching Window 8 and associated services and devices, which may reduce our operating margins."

Next Gen iPhone Leaked This Time It Is Fully Assembled

The next gen iPhone has been leaked a numerous times but the device was never leaked with full assembly. This time the photos show the next gen iPhone in its full glory but this may just be the final design. Personally i think this could just be one of the engineering and may just look like the next gen iPhone. But if we look at apple currently in the patent wars they actually have a lot of prototype designs before the actual device itself. The images adds up with most of the current rumors.

GTX 660 Ti

The GTX 660 Ti according to rumors will be the card which has very good performance and also a good price, this is because it is using the GK 104 chip. It is rumored to be launching on August 16 with some sources confirming the date. There are some leaked images of the GTX 660 Ti manufactured by EVGA, These images looks like the real deal. From the image we can clearly see that the PCB of it is shorter than the shroud covering it which is similar to the GTX 670. From the image we also can interpret that the GTX 660 Ti is powered through a single 6-pin power connector. The rear I/O include 2 DVI ports (1 X Single Link and 1 X Dual Link), one HDMI port, and 1 Display port, there are also two SLI fingers present in this card. This card uses a blower type fan which cools an aluminum heatsink fin array with a copper base which is pretty similar to the cooling system on stock coolers. More specs on this card was acquired from chinese forum RedQuaser. They revealed that this card has two different models. They suggested that the non-reference 660 Ti will have a 256-bit memory bus, 1152 CUDA cores, and dual 6-pin power connectors. Additionally they also mentioned that the 660 Ti's core speed is set at 980MHz and a boost clock of 1123MHz. Performance wise this card managed to score X2700 in 3D Mark11 extreme preset and the score achieved by the 660 Ti is similar to the one scored by the HD 7950. The second model will have 1344 CUDA cores with a 192-bit memory bus. Both of the models will come with 2GB GDDR5 memory.

Gigabyte Z77X-UP7

Earlier this week we reported that the final design of the Gigabyte Z77X-UP7 has been spotted on Gigabyte Motherboard Tech Column's facebook page. This motherboard was showcased at Computex last month but at that time it was still an engineering sample and not ready for prime time yet. The main feature in this motherboard is the massive 32 phase VRM. This is one of the first boards utilising their Ultra Durable 5 technology which are featuring a range of high current capable components including the industry’s highest rated 60A IR3550 PowIRstage ICs that provide the best quality power delivery to the CPU for record-breaking performance, cool and efficient operation and extended motherboard lifespan. To cut things short ultra durable 5 is better components which is something like MSI's Military Class. This motherboard is orange and black themed which is similar to their X79-UD7.

Samsung Reportedly Reached 350 PPI On Super HD Amoled Displays

Currently There are 3 devices utilising the Super HD Amoled displays which are the Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note, and the Galaxy S III. However there is one bad thing about this displays, they are pentile displays. Today a korean source reports that Samsung has found a solution to achieve higher pixel densities (350 PPI) on the amoled panels. Currently the amoled panels are  using the pentile matrix pixel arrangement. Futhermore FMM (Fine Metal Mask) production method only allowed for low pixel densities. These results low pixel densities on current generation of amoled panels. It is also reported that Samsung is test-running the Laser-Induced Thermal Imaging (LITI) production method for their amoled panels with very high pixel density. This process allows pixels to be laid out with much greater precision. But apparently LITI is much more cheaper than FMM. The  process couldn't be upscaled for mass production without issues. That's why the report that Samsung has managed to achieve 350ppi pixel densities with FMM for its small and medium AMOLED panels, such as those for smartphones and tablets. If the news is true then Samsung is able to use existing equipment to make these higher PPI displays. The next flagship panel could just be the Super HD Amoled Plus which will take away pentile displays. These newer panels could be in Samsung's next flagship phone and will take away the pentile displays and bring RGB matrix colors as well as higher pixel densities.
