Zotac Geforce GTX 670 Extreme Edition Exposed


Latest info about ZOTAC’s GTX 670 Extreme Edition graphics card have been exposed which suggest that the card is based on a totally non reference design and a very beastly PCB design. It also features some of the most high class components ever used on a GTX 670. For example, the GK 104 along with its 2GB Hynix GDDR5 memory chips are powered by an 8+3Phase VRM equipped with the bleeding edge International Rectifier GaNpowIR driver-MOSFETs, server-grade tantalum capacitors, and FPCAP multi-phase capacitors, All driven by the CHiL CHL8318 VRM controller. The clock frequency is maintained at 1100MHz (core), 1200MHz (boost) while the memory clock was increased to 6600MHz from 6GHz on reference models. This beast of a card is powered by a 8+6 Pin connectors and voltage measurement points are located right next to them. ZOTAC has also included the OC+ module which is a USB controlled expansion card which fits in the drive bay located at the front of the PCB allowing for voltage/clock adjustments and GPU monitoring. Whereas the cooler itself is a mammoth featuring five 9mm heatpipes running through the dense aluminum fin array and cooled by dual fans. ZOTAC adds a backplate and a PCB supporter in the package. This card will hit the stores next month.

Colorful Geforce GTX 670 Revealed



This card features the same GK104 chip which was used on the flagship GTX 680 except that one of its SMX unit is disabled which reduces the total number of cuda cores, also the card is so trimmed down that it has been equipped on a PCB which matches the length of the GTS 450 card.  MSI’s GTX 680 was previously leaked but it was only pictured from the top so we couldn’t exactly calculate the exact length of the PCB. The colorful 670 has been pictured from the back which shows that the PCB is extremely short compared to the 680 and the cooler shroud is extended to make it look like a bigger card. However the features are still intact, such as the 2 SLI Goldfingers, Reference Display Outputs (2 DVI, 1 HDMI, 1 Display Port) a 4+1 Phase VRM design and 2GB (256-bit wide) memory interface, One thing we spotted is that there are 4 Memory chips located at the back of the PCB while 4 are located at the front. This means that there’s room for additional 8 memory chips so we can see 4GB reference or custom models in the future or at launch by different vendors. The card still requires two 6 Pin connectors and has a TDP above 170W. The VRM assembly is located near the exhaust port. Launching on May 7th, The card would be priced at an MSRP of $399.
