i5 3570k Benchemark

i5 3570k sample has been benched early. All of those games ran at playable frame rates with SC2 being the lowest at 29.3fps (fine for a real-time strategy title). but, compared to the entry-level  GT 240 1GB, the HD Graphics 4000 still looked fairly anemic. On average, the discrete Nvidia card pumped nearly 36% more frames with more than 60fps in all but one of the games (Far Cry at 51.6fps). EXPreview also ran 3DMark 11 to test the GPU's DX11 performance. The total score was only 1478 with frame rates largely in the single digits.

Asrock's First Industrial Motherboard

ASRock released three products which are the IMB-140, IMB-141, and IMB-142. The latter two share an identical board layout. All three models are driven by Intel Atom D2700. The IMB-140 is heavy on connectivity, it includes three serial bus ports, dual-GbE interface, D-Sub, HDMI, and LVDS display outputs, two SATA 3 Gb/s storage interfaces, legacy PCI, and a plethora of other legacy connectivity. The IMB-141 and IMB-142 have slightly slimmer connectivity load outs, the two differ only with the latter having two GbE interfaces, while the former has one. The two have more USB interfaces, and one lesser serial bus (COM) port. The two also feature a mini-PCIe apart from a legacy PCI.

USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter

A Japanese company going by the name of Sanko has come up with a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter. The manufacturer has stated that it's possible to use up to six of these impressively small USB3TOHD adapters in a single 6+port USB 3.0 hub without experiencing any image degradation or performance decreases. while having such a small footprint, the adapter is designed so that it can still be used with a HDMI to DVI-I single-link dongle if need be. The only real shortcoming with it is its single-link limitation, where it is confined to resolutions only up to 1920 x 1200. Meaning users with 2560 screens are out. Sanko lists support for Windows XP, Vista and 7 with the USB3TOHD and it's priced at 9,800 JPY (about US $124.30).

Today is launch day for the Radeon 7770 and 7750. There are a few major brands which launch their reference and non reference cards. First up is ASUS,

Asus HD 7770

Asus released their Direct CU top for the HD 7770, althoug it does not have the DCU 2 top the card still performs excellent when overclocking. For this card Asus manage to ramp up the clock speed to 1020 MHz (1000MHz stock) it also has an overclock of 100MHz for the memory clock which is 4600 MHz and the 7770 has a 128-bit memory interface. the rear I/O is 1 D-sub output, 1 DVI output, 1 HDMI output and 2 Mini display ports.

Asus HD 7750

The HD 7750 from AMD is the little brother of the HD 7770. this is a single card slot and will not be availble for crossfire. this card features slightly overclocked speeds, with the core clocked at 820 MHz (800 MHz stock), and 1150 MHz (1125 MHz stock) memory.

Next ups is the XFX Radeon HD 7700 series of cards. XFX launched 9 card total for the HD 7700 series which are essentially based on two designs by the company, a single-fan Ghost Thermal Technology board, and a dual-fan Double Dissipation board, spread across both the HD 7770 and HD 7750 SKUs, and in a variety of factory-overclock bins such as Core Edition (AMD reference speeds), Black Edition (1095 MHz core for the HD 7770, TBD for HD 7750), and SuperOverclock Edition (1120 MHz core for the HD 7770, TBD for the HD 7750).

Sapphire HD 7770
Sapphire HD 7750
Next in line is the Sapphire cards. sapphire released 3 cards on launch day, the HD 7700 OC, the HD 7700 (stock frequencies), and a Radeon HD 7750. The HD 7770 cards use a custom design fan heatsink with an AMD reference design PCB that's colored Sapphire's signature shade of blue; while the HD 7750 card uses a fan-heatsink originally designed by Arctic Cooling, which Sapphire used on several mid-range cards in the past. The HD 7770 OC features clock speeds of 1150 MHz core, and 1250 MHz GDDR5 memory. The stock-frequency HD 7770 sticks to AMD reference speeds of 1000 MHz core, and 1125 MHz GDDR5 memory. The HD 7750 sticks to AMD reference clock speeds of 800 MHz core and 1125 MHz GDDR5 memory. Expect most common prices of $159 for the HD 7770 with a small premium for the OC model, and $109 for the HD 7750.

Intel Haswell

More new about Hashwell , one of the main news about it is that Hashwell will support DirectX 11.1 (also means support for next windows OS)it will also support OpenCL 1.2, which speeds up certain GPGPU-optimized applications. More importantly, the iGPU will be designed around a new stereoscopic 3D standard called Auto-Stereoscopic 3D (AS3D), which will take the likes of Blu-ray 3D acceleration, stereo 3D photos, etc., to the masses. Currently, it takes at least an entry-level GeForce or Radeon GPU to for acceptable performance with stereo 3D.
