intel Core i7 4900 Series, Ivy Bridge i7 Extreme Processors Coming In Q3 2013

Intel is launching their i7 3970X in Q4 2012 to replace the current flagship i7 extreme processor the i7 3960X. Now a newer leak shows a ivy bridge i7 extreme processors which is the i7 4900. Back to the i7 3970X, it is based on the sandy bridge architecture, has 6 cores and 12 threads, clocked at 3.5GHz with a turbo of 4GHz, 15MB of L3 cache and the processor will be priced at $999 USD. Moving to the ivy bridge i7 extreme processor which is based on intel's 22nm 3D tri gate transistor codnamed ivy bridge. These ivy bridge processors will be featured in Computex 2013 and the lineup consists of the i7 4930, 4960, 4970 and a 4990 which is the flagship model. DDR3-1866 will be compatible with all of these processor on the LGA 2011 socket.

GIGABYTE is First with Validated 7.032 GHz CPU Clock World Record on Ivy Bridge

PRESS RELEASE
GIGABYTE TECHNOLGY Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, today announced the record highest validated CPU clock speed on the Intel Core i7 3770K processor using a GIGABYTE Z77X-UD3H motherboard, as well as the new world record highest DDR3 memory speed using the GIGABYTE Z77X-U5H motherboard.

The 7.0 GHz milestone was surpassed using an Intel 3rd generation Core i7 3770k processor (aka Ivy Bridge) by renowned overclocker HiCookie, pushing the GIGABYTE Z77X-UD3H motherboard to a fully validated 7.03 GHz using liquid nitrogen cooling. This is regarded as the current #1 highest Ivy Bridge CPU frequency and a world record according to respected global overclocking website HWBot.org.

Additionally, HiCookie has broken the current highest memory speed for the Intel Ivy Bridge platform, reaching an unprecedented 3280MHz with all 4 memory slots populated using the GA-Z77X-UD5H motherboards and G.Skill Trident X DDR3-2800 memory - also a new world record. This new record was achieved thanks in part to GIGABYTE’s engineering prowess and tried-and-true memory tuning capabilities.

"These new world records highlight our belief that top notch quality and design deliver truly world-class, record breaking performance," commented Tim Handley, Deputy Director of Motherboard Marketing at GIGABYTE. "These new performance achievements come at a very opportune time as we prepare to introduce our next generation high-performance CPU power zone at Computex 2012, and we're expecting even better results from motherboard models with this new feature!"

Validated World Records – Because Seeing is Believing
These new world records announced today have been fully validated by CPUz and Canard PC, considered the standard validation mechanism for overclockers worldwide. Check out these new world records on HWBot.org by following the links below:

What is Behind Ivy Bridge CPU's Thermals ?

PC Watch has proved that the thermal interface material (TIM) used by Intel, inside the integrated heatspreader (IHS) of its 3rd generation Core series codenamed "Ivy Bridge" processors are behind its higher than expected load temperatures. This assertion was first made in late-April by an Overclockers.com report, and was recently put to test by Japanese tech portal PC Watch, in which an investigator carefully removed the IHS of a Core i7-3770K processor, removed the included TIM and binding grease, and replaced them with a pair of aftermarket performance TIMs, such as OCZ Freeze and Coolaboratory Liquid Pro. PC Watch findings show that swapping the TIM, if done right; can shave stock clock (3.5 GHz, Auto voltage) temperatures by as much as 18% (lowest temperatures by the Coolaboratory TIM), and 4.00 GHz @ 1.2V temperatures by as much as 23% (again, lowest temperatures on the Coolaboratory TIM). The change in TIM was also change the overclockability of the chip, which was then able to sustain higher core voltages to facilitate higher core clock speeds. The report also concluded that Intel's decision to use thermal paste inside the IHS of its Ivy Bridge chips, instead of fluxless solder, poses a very real impact on temperatures and overclockability.

Asus Z77

the Usual style of the back of the asus motherboards box. there are many info about this board in this picture. one of the key things are they still retain their sandy bridge motherboard look

Chinese online marketplace site Taobao has listings of two yet-to-launch motherboards based on the Intel Z77 Express chipset, the Wibtek Z77 Hacker (we earlier covered news of that listing  and now, the ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe. This will be among ASUS' premium LGA1155 motherboards based on the new chipset. It is priced at (US $396), which seems to be at the price of a low end X79 motherboard. The P8Z77-V Deluxe supports DDR3-2800 MHz with overclocking. Expansion slots include two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 (x8/x8 when both are populated), wired to the CPU, supporting NVIDIA SLI, AMD CrossFire and Lucid VirtuMVP; one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (electrical x4, wired to the PCH); and four PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots. Good riddance to legacy PCI. Display connectivity lacks archaic connectors such as DVI and D-Sub, includes HDMI and DisplayPort, instead. Storage connectivity consists of four SATA 6 Gb/s (two from the PCH, two from a third-party controller), four SATA 3 Gb/s, and two eSATA 6 Gb/s. Other connectivity includes two gigabit Ethernet interfaces (one driven by Intel 82579V, one by Realtek RTL8111F PHY); Wireless b/g/n (quad-band); Bluetooth 3.0; 8+2 channel HD audio (Realtek ALC898 HDA CODEC); 8 USB 3.0 ports (six on the rear panel, two via front-panel header); and 8 USB 2.0 ports. There are several ASUS-exclusives to be had, such as its UEFI BIOS with EZMode, EPU, TurboV Processing Unit (TPU), and others. all this info brings to a conclusion, the ivy bridge platfor is about to be released.

i5 3570k Benchemark

i5 3570k sample has been benched early. All of those games ran at playable frame rates with SC2 being the lowest at 29.3fps (fine for a real-time strategy title). but, compared to the entry-level  GT 240 1GB, the HD Graphics 4000 still looked fairly anemic. On average, the discrete Nvidia card pumped nearly 36% more frames with more than 60fps in all but one of the games (Far Cry at 51.6fps). EXPreview also ran 3DMark 11 to test the GPU's DX11 performance. The total score was only 1478 with frame rates largely in the single digits.
