Zotac Geforce GTX 670 Extreme Edition Exposed

Latest info about ZOTAC’s GTX 670 Extreme Edition graphics card have been exposed which suggest that the card is based on a totally non reference design and a very beastly PCB design. It also features some of the most high class components ever used on a GTX 670. For example, the GK 104 along with its 2GB Hynix GDDR5 memory chips are powered by an 8+3Phase VRM equipped with the bleeding edge International Rectifier GaNpowIR driver-MOSFETs, server-grade tantalum capacitors, and FPCAP multi-phase capacitors, All driven by the CHiL CHL8318 VRM controller. The clock frequency is maintained at 1100MHz (core), 1200MHz (boost) while the memory clock was increased to 6600MHz from 6GHz on reference models. This beast of a card is powered by a 8+6 Pin connectors and voltage measurement points are located right next to them. ZOTAC has also included the OC+ module which is a USB controlled expansion card which fits in the drive bay located at the front of the PCB allowing for voltage/clock adjustments and GPU monitoring. Whereas the cooler itself is a mammoth featuring five 9mm heatpipes running through the dense aluminum fin array and cooled by dual fans. ZOTAC adds a backplate and a PCB supporter in the package. This card will hit the stores next month.

Nvidia Geforce GTX 670

Today is launch day for the GTX 670. This time around non reference cards came out on launch day. some examples are from palit, asus, zotac, and galaxy. one of the things which stand out is that Techpowerup (a very well known tech site/ reviewer) has reviewed the Asus Geforce GTX 670 Direct CU II and gave it a perfect score of 10 !!! In the Pro's and Cons part of the review they said that this card is faster than the GTX 670. Alright back to business, the GTX 670 like the GTX 680 has the GK 104. the both cards have 1344 cuda cores, this is different to the 1536 cuda cores the GTX 680 has because one of the SMX has been disabled, the core clock in the other hand 915MHz with a boost clock of 980MHz. Other than that it has a 6.00 GHz memory clock resulting in a 192 GBs memory bandwith, a 2GB memory buffer which is 256-bit wide, it has 32 ROPs and two SLI fingers for a 4-way SLI configuration. Unlike the GTX 680 the GTX 670 draws power from dual 6-pin power connectors for a TDP of 170W. For the Rear I/O it feature two dual-link DVI a HDMI 1.4 capable of 3D and a full lenght display port. This card out of the box also supports 3D Vision surround on 3 monitors an one auxiliary monitor. Gigabyte Geforce GTX 670 Windforce 3X Spotted

Yesterday we saw the leaked reference design GTX 670 which comes with a quite short PCB, and now the first non-reference GTX 670 has surfaced online from Malaysia, namely the Gigabyte GTX 670 WindForce 3X edition. The PCB on this non-reference card is about the same length as the WindForce 3X cooler itself that is composed of an aluminum radiator, three copper-plated heatpipes as well as three 92 mm fans. This model in particular however comes with one 6 pin and one 8 pin power connectors, which shows that this card has more VRM phases and is ready for some extreme overclocking. The card comes with the reference 2GB memory across a 256 bit interface with the core clock set at 980 MHz and memory running at 6008 MHz effective. The card features 1344 CUDA cores and is available on retail for $491. check out the GTX 670’s reference design benchmarks here as it clearly blows the HD 7950 away and may be able to compete with the HD 7970 after Overclocking.

Nvidia Geforce GTX 670 Benchmarks

The reference design as well as some benchmarks of the GTX 670. The Geforce GTX 670 will be the third GPU to feature the 28nm Kepler GK104 core. This card with the plastic shroud looks like a normal length card but if the shroud is taken out it is revealed the card is as short as a GTX 295. As you can see from the image above The Kepler Gk104 is accompanied by a 4 Phase VRM which is powered by dual 6 pin power connectors. There are four memory chips at the front and four at the back of the PCB which suggest a 2GB memory buffer which is 256-bit wide, however an additional room for eight more chips mean we would be looking at 4GB non reference models soon. The Kepler GK104 has one of its SMX units disabled totaling at 1344 Cuda Cores, 112 TMUs and 32 ROPs. Display outputs include two DVI ports accompanied by a single HDMI and a Display port. The two Gold SLI fingers allow for 4-Way multi GPU configurations. The card was manufactured b Gigabyte as suggested from the codename “GV-N670OC-2GD2″ was pitted against the Radeon HD 7950 and GeForce GTX 570. The results obtained were quite shocking:

As you can see the GTX 670 blows the GTX 570 away but also outperforms the HD 7950 and at times giving around 80% of the performance of a GTX 680 at stock clocks and with overclocked frequencies can reach the 680 levels with ease. The card would be a strong entry in the Kepler lineup though its price is still not confirmed, Some suggest $349 while custom variants would sell for above $399. Official launch date for the 670 is May 7th.

MSI GTX 670

 Yesterday we showed you the GTX 670's exterior today we have some pictures for you. The GTX 670 will be NVIDIA's third SKU based on the GK104, and will be positioned to compete with AMD Radeon HD 7950. The card pictured below is nearly identical to a Leadtek-branded one that was pictured last week, which leads us to believe that this could very well be NVIDIA reference design, with just MSI's sticker on. From the placement of the power connectors we can know that this is using a different PCB compared to the GTX 680. The card packs 1344 CUDA cores, 112 TMUs, 32 ROPs, a 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface holding 2 GB of memory, and clock-speeds of 900 MHz (core base), 1250 MHz actual or 5.00 GHz effective GDDR5 memory. It is predicted that future non-reference designs could come in much shorter PCBs thanks to rather slim VRM requirements, and just 8 memory chips, the GPU package isn't too big, either. Display outputs include two dual link DVI, and a HDMI as well as a DisplayPort. The ability to set up 3D Vision Surround from one card could stay in this card. Lastly, the box mentions "OC Edition", and so the card could come with out of the box overclocked speeds.

MSI Geforce GTX 670 Spotted in Malaysia

MSI’s  GeForce GTX 670 OC edition has been exposed through an Malaysian based retailer. The GeForce  GTX 670 is currently an unreleased GPU by NVIDIA. The MSI GeForce GTX 670 being an factory overclocked model would come with pumped up core/boost clock frequencies, The 2GB (256-bit) memory however would run at stock speeds.Other specifications include 1344 Cuda Cores, 112 TMUs, 32 ROPs. Power would be provided through dual 6 Pin connectors while display outputs would remain the same: 2 DVI, HDMI and a single display port. The card would officially launch and be available globally by May 7th for a price of $399. Expect overclocked models to cost a bit extra at $30. A second SKU could launch around the same time codenamed GTX 660Ti for a price of $249.
