The Nokia 808 Pureview Succeeds In Replacing A Professional Cinema Camera

The Nokia 808 Pureview is by far the best camera ever embedded on a smartphone and has won numerous awards for its camera. This phone runs symbian and has a 4" display, in the back of the device there is a big hump for the 41MP sensor which is very capable of shooting videos and the sound has CD like quality. Now the 808 Pureview was put to its test by replacing a cinema camera in shooting a film. This test was conducted by Sweedish video professional Christopher Westerholm. He ended up with a 120 second video which shows perfect clarity of images and showcases the powerful image processing of the 808 pureview. He had this to say about the video:
I did a “Flat picture” profile in the phone by dialing down contrast, saturation and sharpness and underexposed some of the scenes to protect highlights. I also used a mattebox, and 4’4 polarizing, and for some of the brighter scenes a 4’4 ND filter 0.9. I later upscaled the footage in premiere pro to later crop it for 1:2.35 aspect ratio. I color-corrected quite heavily, because I think I pushed the contrast a little bit to much so it all looked very flat.
This is still a short trailer of his project and we can't wait to see the whole thing. Here's the 120 second video, make sure to watch it in 1080P to see the clarity of the pictures:

Pureview Technology Coming To Lumia Phones Very Soon

The Pureview Technology is something which stands and might help Nokia regain market share as their stock is at a 15 year low and still dropping. This technology first debuted on the Nokia 808 Pureview which was showcased in MWC 2012 and won best in show. The 808 pureview although has the best camera a smartphone can have it still lacks in the software as symbian has some limitations. When the phone was announced many US residents was interested in the device even though it is running symbian. The only reason why the 808 Pureview is in the states is because many consumers requested for it as carriers refuse to take it in. Also shortly after the 808 pureview was announced many users asked when will this technology debut in the Lumia Windows Phone lineup. So if you were waiting for a Lumia Pureview phone, we have good news as Nokia's VP of Worldwide Developer Relations Richard Kerris said a Lumia Pureview will be coming very soon. He also said that they want to differentiate themselves from the rest of the market and was talking about bendable screens and wraparound displays. The wraparound display, for example, wold make the device look like a camera when you use it to take pictures. If you remember in the year 2008 a device called the Nokia Morph made an appearance on a video. Then a few months back, Nokia said it would seek a patent for the concept. He also thinks that Nokia can innovate its way out of the problems they're facing which is a clue that new products will arrive this fall for the holiday season.

But that was not just what microsoft revealed this week, a few days later they officially announced windows Phone 8 and it will be available this fall, click here to check it out. The next big news which has been circulating the web is about the Samsung Galaxy S III. The news is that a guy was driving his car with his brand new Galaxy S III and his phone was in the car dock without the charger not plugged in, all of a sudden there was a flash of white smoke, sparks and a loud bang from the phone. Then he stopped his car to examine his phone, apparently the bottom of the phone burned and melted through the case. The man then sent the phone back to samsung and he did not receive a replacement phone. His problem might happen to any Galaxy S III user. Samsung knew about the problem and said they were investigating the problem, meanwhile the man is left with nothing.

This is one of the firs thing google did after acquisition of Motorola Mobility last month. They released a Promo video showing off the new features coming with the ICS update. Overall this new look looks quite promising.
A few days ago Foxconn CEO Terry Gou revealed an intention to overtake Samsung in every electronics-manufacturing can be achieved within 5 years. Foxconn recently bought stake in a sharp LCD screen plant and this partnership is hoped to give and edge over Samsung's technology. He also said that Sharp is 3 years ahead of Samsung in its 10th generation screen plant. Sharp may be focusing on IGZO technology which the japanese has developed, that technology is making debut in the display on the new iPad.
