Here are 12 Windows Store apps for your new Windows 10 PC

Nothing beats that feeling of laying your hands on some new hardware and I'm pretty sure that some of you out there have picked up a new device or received a gift in conjunction with the holiday season. I have personally gotten myself the new surface pro 4 and you can read about my first impressions of the device in my previous article. Well If you have recently gotten your hands on a new Windows 10 powered computer (or even a Mac) or if you want to see what apps that I use on a daily basis, here is a list of my must have apps on a computer.
My first week with the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 — "The deep hardware and software integration allows the Surface Pen to perform at it's tip top condition without any latency issues compared to other third party apps. I am quite happy with Windows 10 so far and I have been using it since it was made available to everyone" Continue reading.
First off, I would go to www.ninite.com and start selecting a few applications from the list and download the installer so that I don’t need to go to a bunch of different sites to get the download packages. I have been using ninite for quite some time now and it is a very useful tool quickly get started. Then I continue the installation process with other programs like Photoshop and visual studio which are not available on ninite. Finally, the last thing I'll do on Windows 10 specifically is to uninstall the get skype and get office app.

Getting intimate with Microsoft's Bing search engine

When google is not an option

bing-vs-google-review-2015
What is the most popular site? That is a pretty simple question to answer, Google is by far the most visited site on the internet. While that might be true in every other country in the world, China is that one exception as their Republic's internet communication with the outside world is filtered through the governments strict policies which restrict access to sites which do not obey their guidelines. Google in particular was filtered out of China's network because they were seemingly reluctant to block certain search terms which goes against the belief of China's government.

But while websites are an important part of the internet experience, being able to search for websites is more important in the sense of allowing the user to discover based on the search term. Google (and many other sites) might well be blocked in China but unsurprisingly, there are identical sets of alternatives built by the Chinese. Baidu in particular is probably the most visited site in China as it is basically a carbon copy of Google but in Chinese. While baidu.com is the go-to option in China, it is not exactly the best search engine for searching foreign content.

Basically, Baidu.com is developed for the Chinese market and the search engine itself is designed to filter through Chinese webpages and that's about it, there is no English or foreign version of Baidu available. So, if you are trying to get some proper English search results in China, you will need to turn to Google's biggest competition in the global market which is none other than Microsoft's Bing search engine which also powers Yahoo search.

Bing desktop review, more than just a search engine

Why is there a fish on my desktop

bing-desktop-daily-wallpaper-bing-wallpaper
When it comes to the stock desktop on Windows, it's usually just filled with icons depicting folders, app shortcut and files. Sure you could install a custom theme engine to get something artistic up on your desktop or you could also take advantage of the widgets which are only available in Windows 7 and Windows Vista. But moving forward to newer releases of Windows like Windows 8 and Windows 10, the desktop has seemingly become static already and all the rotating information is present only in the start menu/screen.

This should be something fairly new for everyone out there, you're probably somewhat familiar to the search engine called Bing by Microsoft but there's actually a desktop application which enables you to search directly through the desktop.

Personally, I am not so sure when did I even discover this application but for the past few years, it has been seemingly there on my desktop. Just to reiterate things, Bing desktop is an official program from Microsoft which supports systems running Windows XP and above. Microsoft doesn't actually pre-install this application onto Windows PCs nor do they even promote the program whatsoever.

Microsoft Launches The Scroogled Campaign To Raise Awareness About The Bad Things Of Google Search, They Never Stop Trying

Microsoft is at it again with their campaigns and this time it is a campaign called scroogled. As the name is you might have found out that it has something to to with google, and yes it does. This holiday campaign will reveal the bad things google are doing. Click here to see the site.
You see, Google recently pulled down its “product search service” and replaced it with a “paid listing ads” service. Search for “Canon EOS” in Google Shopping and you receive pages that look like the old days, with “results” down the middle and ads mixed in. But the “results” are also ads. Every product offer within the shopping search results on that page paid to be there, and where and how high they appear is at least in part dependent on how much they paid. Meanwhile, at least one of biggest online retailers refused to pay Google’s new fee, so you won’t see any of their product offers and great holiday deals in shopping results.

Yahoo Axis

Yahoo has just released its first browser/search engine. This is a software which is available on windows and IOS currently. On the desktop side yahoo axis is located below of your browser provided you install the plugin which is available for internet explorer, mozilla firefox, safari and google chrome. Within using this app on the ipad for almost 2 hours i feel that it is a very good product and have some room for improvements. The plugin on both desktop or ios device is pretty simple to use, it is basically a hybrid search which gives you some recommendations as you type as well as some visual looks of the sites.
As you can see from the image yahoo axis gives you  the trending articles
Yahoo axis gives you a visual look to the pages, you can also scroll to the right to see more You can always hide the search menu by sliding it up, and to reveal the search bar simply slide the menu bar down
As you can see browsing on the yahoo axis looks pretty sleek
Going back to the desktop plugin you can virtually search some info about something on yahoo axis without even leaving the website you are browsing. This may just be the thing which gives yahoo back its former success, only time will tell. But to my perspective this is going to be a very successful product. to learn more head on to the yahoo axis page.
