In the past few years smartphones are increasingly becoming more and more popular. It all started with the iPhone which till today is one of the most popular smartphones, then in 2011 Samsung got into the game and introduced their second Galaxy S device and it turned out to be one of their most best selling device to date. So the story starts up with iPhone's being very popular in the days and it was also a very premium device which does not come cheap. So the people over at China which are famous at making knockoff devices decided to make a knockoff iPhone which is running android and the look and feel of the knockoff device really felt the same. Then as the popularity of android devices from HTC and Samsung knockoff devices for their flagship devices also popped out. So the big question is 'is knockoff devices worth every penny they cost ?' Well If i were to give a definite answer i would say yes because knockoff devices are basically the same as the real thing physically that is but in the hardware side it might be a little underpowered but that's fair enough for the price that it is on. I recently came across a knockoff Galaxy Note II which came with a flip cover. At first glance without opening the flip cover it looks really like a Note II but until you open the cover to see the screen then i immediately see the difference. The specs of the device somehow feels mindboggling because for approx 170USD it has a quad core processor, 2GB of RAM and a HD display.

Earlier this week we saw a leaked image which revealed the Galaxy Note II will be coming in brown and dark red. Now we have an image of the brown Galaxy Note II which is carrier branded for nttdocomo. There is nothing new to this variant of the Note II, the only differetiating factor is the color. It is still uncertain when this color will be available to the international Note II.

Last month we heard some news that Samsung is set to splash a few new colors to the Galaxy Note II early next year. Today a south korean magazine revealed the Note II in two new colors and somebody was nice enough to take some pictures. The device was seen in amber brown and ruby wine and i have to say that the colors look pretty bold on the device especially on the S Pen. These new colors could be launched as soon as in CES 2013 next week.

One of the downsides of Android 4.1 Jellybean was it did not support the flash player. Additionally you could install it via an APK file but Adobe does not quite recommend that because there might be problems affecting the phone. Adobe and Samsung made an official statement: "Upgrade from Android 4.0 ICS to 4.1 JB will keep their Flash player intact and working." for Galaxy SII and SIII owners. Because the Samsung Galaxy Note II has a near identical processor to the international Galaxy S3, the Exynos 4412 (although the Note 2 variant is faster, cooler, and consumes less battery due to the 32nm process and higher clock speed), whenever the Galaxy S3 player gets a Flash Player update, that update will always be just as compatible on the Galaxy Note 2. Unless Adobe goes through the unusual step of explicitly blocking out the Galaxy Note 2's model numbers or the Note 2's Exynos 4412-variant cpu model number in the Flash Player code, it will always keep working.
The best thing is the apk installer can be downloaded from Adobe directly. No need to bother potentially cracked versions in someone's dropbox folder or shady download link. (Please see link below.) No rooting required. It works on all browsers except Chrome.
The Galaxy Note II is future-proof when it comes to Adobe Flash Player support, although it is not officially supported. It will be helped by the fact all Galaxy Note II's have the exact same processor, unlike some Galaxy S3's and S2 variants that have alternate Qualcomm Snapdragon processors which may have issues with Flash Player incompatibility down the line. Prepare to enjoy Flash player for the life of the device! But remember this support might end in future versions of android as HTML 5 starts getting popular day by day.

Latest Adobe Flash Player (As of October 24, 2012): Adobe Flash Player v11.1.115.20

This week Samsung launched the Galaxy Note II at Korea and they are launching it again next week at the UK. But there is still not official date for the US launch till now. This morning Samsung released invitations for a October 24 event which features the S Pen in the invitation. This event will be held in NYC on the 24th of October at 7PM. They are expected to announce carrier pricing and availability of this device at the event. We are still not certain when will it go on sale of each carrier but my guess it will be available for purchase on the day itself or one week after that which is early November. Samsung recently announced that the 4 major carriers will be carrying this device so carrier support is no myth.

The Galaxy Note II is set to be unveiled on August 29 in the IFA Samsung Mobile Unpacked. The Galaxy Note II is most probably going to be the start of IFA this year. GSMArena recently received a tip by an anonymous tipster which gave them a picture of what might the Galaxy Note II look like. The image sent by the tipster shows the front panel of the alleged Galaxy Note II. However the tipster could not confirm the origins of this picture but this pretty much adds up to the rumors which state the Galaxy Note II will be inspired by the Galaxy S III. Additionally the tipster also gave a few specs of the Galaxy Note II. As expected it will come with a 1280 X 800 Super HD Amoled screen measuring 5.5" which will utilise the regular RGB matrix. Some rumors also say that the Galaxy Note II will come with a full HD resolution but the tipster said that the Galaxy Note II did undergo some testing but they found that it was putting a lot of strain to the battery, so it didn't made its way to the final product. The processor is a Exynos 4 Quad a quad core CPU similar to the Galaxy S III but clocked at a higher frequency at 1.5GHz. The camera will be an 8MP shooter and it will use the same sensor as the one on the Galaxy S III. The Galaxy Note II will most probably come with ICS out of the boxand jellybean will come in a future OTA, rumors also say that Samsung is still testing jellybean and is not yet ready for release. But there is a slight chance that Jellybean might come preinstalled out of the box. If jellybean does not come preinstalled out of the box the update should be available shortly after it is relased to consumers because Samsung is preparing to release the jellybean update to the Galaxy S III, so the Note II will get it soon after since both of their hardware are pretty similar.

Yesterday we reported that Samsung has sent out invitations about their IFA Samsung Moblie Unpacked event. There were speculations that Samsung will eitherunveil the Galaxy Note II or the Galaxy Note 10.1 in the event. Today a Samsung representative said "We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29." This has been rumored and is said to be before the launch of the iPhone 5 to put users attention away from the iPhone. This confirms the Galaxy Note II launch but what about the Galaxy Note 10.1 ? Apparently Negri Electronics started taking pre-orders for it and will ship today. We will be talking more about it in our Weekly Tech Update (Formerly Know As Phone Tech Update). So mark your calenders for August 29 as it is the debut of the Galaxy Note II
