MSI Teases Next Z77 Based Motherboard

MSI Computer U.S.'s facebook page uploaded two teaser photos of their upcoming Z77 motherboard. From the motherboard we can't quite point out what the model is but the motherboard version is stated there. If you reference the version stated there which is MS-7751 VER: 3.0, you will find out that it is using the same board as the Z77A-GD65; The PCI-E lanes are also similar. One of the interesting things is that on this board MSI is using the chipset cooler which is used on their X79 platform but in black and yellow. One more thing to note that this is one of the board's by MSI which has a matte black PCB and not the brownish-black PCB which most of their motherboards have. From the chipset cooler we can point out that the board has a black color scheme with and accent of yellow; which is something like the color scheme of their Lightning series cards. This board is most probably geared for 2-way SLI bacause the is not PLX chip in sight. Some people are saying that this could be part of the bigbang series of motherboards, but i think that this bard will indeed be a bigbang board but not the highest end. The reason why i said this will not be the highest end because the Bigbang marshal had 8 PCI-E lanes which is geared for 4-way SLI. If this is indeed part of the bigbang series then this board will indeed have a bigger brother, like the Asus Maximus V series the formula has only capabilities for 3 way SLI and the Extreme will hold the 4 way SLI capabilities. This board is most probably not geared for 4-Way SLI but it should most probably be geared towards extreme overclockers. This board is slated to be unveiled next week at Computex. We will be keeping you all updated as the time comes.

Asrock Z77 Extreme 9

The Asrock Z77 Extreme 9, is the step up from the Extreme 6. This board feature Asrock's 555 XFast which is basically everything being fast 5X. One of the pretty cool feature of this board is that it sports 12 USB 3.0 (Yes 12 its not a typo), 8 being in the rear I/O and 4 via an internal header. This board like all asrock boards have their signature mosfet cooling with LED lighting and Gold caps. This board is ready for Four-way-SLI right out of the box, the 4-way-SLI is provided by a chip which also runs the extra USB 3.0 and Sata ports. Other specs include the LGA 1155 socket, Intel Z77 chipset, Dual Gigabit LAN, dual channel DDR3 memory. This board also comes with a breakout box which provides 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2T2R WiFi 802.11 as well as bluetooth 4.0. one of the features that this board still lacks is Thunderbolt. Another thing is that this board only features a HDMI video out. Other standard features of the Z77 chipset are present too, like Lucid Virtu MVP and many more.

EVGA Z77 FTW

Evga introduced their Z77 FTW motherboard today. This board is geared up for third generation processors (AKA Ivy Bridge) on the LGA 1155. This board feature five of PCI express lanes which is capable of running 4 way SLI and CrossfireX, all of the PCI express lanes are PCIE 3.0 with exception of an Ivy Bridge CPU. This board has intergrated USB 3.0 and Sata 6GBps  by the intel Z77 chipset. This board also offers dual 8 pin CPU power connectors for maximum stability and extreme overclocking. There are also dual 6 pin power connectors for the PCI express slots, one power connector is used for multi-card stability whereas two power connectors are for extreme overclocking. A 7+1 Phase PWM, POSCAP Capacitors and a CPU socket with 300% increase in gold content deliver clean and stable power to your CPU. This board also supports oveclocks of memory up to 2133 MHz. This board is availible for pre-order at $329.99.

Intel DZ77GA-70K

The DZ77RE-75K and the DZ77GA-70K shares the same PCB and has the same feature set with the major difference being that the DZ77RE-75K will support Thunderbolt support. However, as Intel's Cactus Ridge Thunderbolt chipset isn't quite ready as yet, it looks like this model will launch later in the year. Looking at the PCB of the DZ77GA-70K on can clearly see a missing chip just left of the topmost x16 PCI Express slot  and a missing connector right next to the audio jacks. beyond the specifications mentioned, the pictures reveal some additional features, although thanks to Intel blanking out the text on all the peripheral chipsets on the board, it's a little bit hard figuring out what they all are. It appears that the additional SATA 6Gbps ports are via Marvell's second generation SATA 6Gbps controllers if we're not entirely mistaken and there also appears to be a PLX PCI Express bridge chip on the board. Amusingly it seems like Intel's motherboard division has run into the fact that the company's chipset division doesn't like adding a sufficient amount of PCI Express lanes to it chipsets and as such had to add the PLX bridge. There is also 2 internal USB 3.0 internal headers. there is also a vertical facing HDMI port.
