Google Maps 8-bit version for NES

Google has been working on 8 bit Maps lately, some people have questioned its decision to forgo developing for the extremely popular NES platform. Now, the company is looking to catch up with a custom cartridge that allows NES users to enjoy all the benefits of Maps in 8-bit form. After inserting the cartridge and connecting to the internet, users can search for destinations or get directions just as they would in the web version. They'll even see some exclusive features, like using the microphone to search. And it's not just the map that's been adapted for 8-bit; the Street View has been given a similar makeover. this will soon be available for sale in Google's store. For now, a trial version is available on the ordinary google maps page; just click the "Quest" icon on the upper right-hand corner or follow the prompts to the left of the map. Google has a history of rolling out revolutionary new features on April 1st and the surrounding days, so we'd keep an eye on its other tools as well. like last year google released a beta version of gmail motion.

Intel DZ77GA-70K

The DZ77RE-75K and the DZ77GA-70K shares the same PCB and has the same feature set with the major difference being that the DZ77RE-75K will support Thunderbolt support. However, as Intel's Cactus Ridge Thunderbolt chipset isn't quite ready as yet, it looks like this model will launch later in the year. Looking at the PCB of the DZ77GA-70K on can clearly see a missing chip just left of the topmost x16 PCI Express slot  and a missing connector right next to the audio jacks. beyond the specifications mentioned, the pictures reveal some additional features, although thanks to Intel blanking out the text on all the peripheral chipsets on the board, it's a little bit hard figuring out what they all are. It appears that the additional SATA 6Gbps ports are via Marvell's second generation SATA 6Gbps controllers if we're not entirely mistaken and there also appears to be a PLX PCI Express bridge chip on the board. Amusingly it seems like Intel's motherboard division has run into the fact that the company's chipset division doesn't like adding a sufficient amount of PCI Express lanes to it chipsets and as such had to add the PLX bridge. There is also 2 internal USB 3.0 internal headers. there is also a vertical facing HDMI port.

EVGA Dual Fan Signature 2 for GTX 680

EVGA started of with its GeForce GTX 680 lineup with a bang. On its launch, EVGA showed off its first "Signature" cooling solution. That particular cooler is similar in design to NVIDIA's cooling solution (lateral-flow through aluminum channels). We're getting to know of yet another of EVGA's non-reference cooler designs for the GeForce GTX 680, the dual-fan Signature 2 cooler. The cooler uses two 80 mm fans that guide air through a complex heatsink below. The fans will spin at lower speeds to achieve similar/higher air-flow than the lateral-blower featured on other designs, and hence could end up being quieter.

Wintel Tablets ?

Wintel tablets are basically windows+Intel, pricing of these tablets will start at $599 and will go up to $799. which launches along with Microsoft's latest Windows 8 operating system, which grab a greater market-share than WoA (Windows on ARM) tablets by the end of 2012, DigiTimes research predicts. PC majors such as HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, ASUStek and Toshiba, have all pledged 1-3 models of Wintel tablets by the end of 2012. Although still an emerging market-segment, tablets will see a clash between x86 and ARM architectures, as they are wooing for the same exact class of devices for the first time in computing history. Intel has made a lot of progress in miniaturizing the Atom processor, while led by the likes of Qualcomm and NVIDIA, ARM processors are getting stronger.

Samsung GT-i9300(rumored Galaxy S III) leaks

PhoneArena is reporting they've just received a photo claiming to be the Samsung GT-i9300. It sports the usual Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich UI, but right now, we don't know what phone this is, or what it could even be. Considering the GALAXY S II is the GT-i9100, the GALAXY Nexus is the GT-i9250, the GT-i9300 should slot right into the GALAXY S III spot, but does it? the picture definitely looks like a GALAXY S handset, sans buttons, which is an ICS-based thing, really. So we should expect the leak to be right with the UI and look of the device itself. We see TouchWiz-sporting ICS with Samsung's Music and Video Hubs, the S Memo, S Planner, and S Suggest apps. The screen looks to be between 4.6- and 4.7-inch, too. The biggest notable change is the Samsung logo which has been moved from the top of the handset, to the bottom. This is a strange move in my opinion. The second thing that makes me doubt this is the GALAXY S III, is that the screen definitely isn't close to the edge, which is what the previous rumors of the GALAXY S III have pointed to.

Nvidia Geforce GTX 680

Today was launch day for the Nvidia Kelper line, the first model in the GeForce Kepler GPU family, the GeForce GTX 680. Based on the new "Kepler" architecture, and a high-performance chip derived from it, GK104, and built on the 28 nm fab process at TSMC, the GeForce GTX 680 is NVIDIA's fresh bid for single-GPU performance supremacy. The new chip packs a staggering 1536 CUDA cores (three-fold increase over GTX 580), 2 GB of GDDR5 memory over a 256-bit wide memory interface, and staggering clock speeds of 1006 MHz to 1056 MHz, and 1502 MHz, with a memory interface bandwidth of 192 GB/s. Nvidia didn't stop there they introduced a clever new technology called GPU Boost, which makes the GPU self-aware of parameters such as load, voltages, temperatures, and auto-tunes clock speeds, to deliver the best performance per Watt ratio. NVIDIA also introduced Adaptive V-Sync, which smooths transition between lower than refresh-rate frame-rates, and V-sync rate, attempting to eliminate lag, and naturally prevent page-tearing. NVIDIA also introduced the new TXAA anti-aliasing algorithm, which is a performance-efficient image quality enhancement. To top it all off, the chip has a TDP of just 195W. Available today, though leading retailers in mature markets, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 is priced at US $499

GTX 680 News

As you all know Nvidia is going to release their next gen GPU in the coming weeks. but last week a Zotac GTX 680 was listed on Dutch online-store ComCom.nl, for 426.20€ excluding taxes, and 507.18€ including it. these cards will begin shipping in 2-5 weeks. There's practically no quantity limit, so those picking four cards for 4-way SLI, can step right up. The ComCom listing doesn't reveal much about the card, except its clock speeds of 1006 MHz (core), 6008 MHz (memory effective), 2 GB memory amount, and display connectivity that includes two DVI, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort. this only happened for a brief period, before redacting the sale page.
But today US retailer Bottom Line Telecommunications, listed ASUS GeForce GTX 680 on its online store (shopBLT). Carrying the part number GTX680-2GD5, this card is priced at US $566.75. The part that makes this a pre-order is that the sale page mentions that "You may order this product regardless of availability," it would be shipped as soon as it's available (after it's launched, of course).

Samsung Galaxy S III

we have here is another one of those, except that this looks rather legit or not. The poster claims it was sent by someone who works at a ‘respectable’ position inside Samsung and he has some really juicy details regarding the upcoming flagship. Some of the juicy details include the inclusion of a quad core Exynos CPU, 2GB RAM, 4.7″ SAMOLED HD screen, 12MP camera and 2200mAh battery. These specs alone are enough to put any current flagship from other manufacturers to shame. Another interesting tidbit is that the phone is rumored to come with an option of stock/vanilla ICS and TouchWiz. Users will have the option to chose the launcher upon boot. If this is true, and I hope to God that it is, then more power to Samsung on doing something no other OEM has had the balls to do. What you can also see in the picture is the lack of any hardware buttons, which further strengthens the fact that the phone might indeed have the option of stock ICS experience.
