Microsoft Surface Tablet

Last week there were many speculations about microsoft announcing their own tablet. Today at the event Microsoft unveiled a tablet called surface. This tablet has a screen size of 10.6", however this tablet is more like a hybrid tablet/computer. The Microsoft Surface tablet will come in two configurations one powered by intel's ivy bridge processors and the other version is on Windows RT and ARM processors. The surface tablet with Windows RT and powered by ARM processors weighs in at 1.5lbs, 9.3mm thin and comes with a built in kickstand. This is also the first PC with vapor-deposited (PVD) magnesium case. This tablet will come with 32GB or 64GB models and accompanied by a 10.6" Clear Type HD display. Next is the Intel based solution which is 13.5mm in thickness and weighs 1.9lbs. This version will be running windows 8 Pro and has USB 3.0 support. This tablet comes with a magnesium casing and a built in kickstand. In addition the intel version will include additional digital ink support via a pen that magnetizes on the body of the tablet. Both versions of the tablet will feature optional touch and type keyboard covers. Pricing is not yet revealed but microsoft says that the Windows RT version will be available around the launch of Windows 8 and the intel solution will be available 3 months later.
