As we are nearing the end of the year the Q3 mobile market results are out. In Q3 Samsung sold more than 56.3 million smartphones and is twice as many as any competitor. Apple is in the close second with 26.9 million units sold. Both of them combined together to form a 46.3% market share in total. This Q3 results are also the first time ever that Nokia is not in it. The 3 companies below the two tech giants have market shares which are very close and anything can happen in Q4. The mobile phone market in the other hand grew 2.4% whereas the smartphone market grew over 45.3%. Next month's statistics should be an interesting one because Nokia is starting sales of the Lumia 920 in November and BB10 is only launching next year and this is the Optimus G and Nexus 4's first full quarter on sale so that gives LG a significant momentum to increase their market share.
