Google Sends Out Invites For A October 29 Event, Google Trying To Take Some Thunder Away From Microsoft

Google has just sent out some invites for a October 29 event which is going to be held at New York City starting 10:00 am. Google will be streaming this event live through YouTube. Their invite says that it is going to be an Android device and there is a high possibility that they will announce the 2012 Nexus phone, Android 4.2 and the rumored $99 Nexus tablet. We might also hear some progress on the Nexus Q which is a media streaming device they announced in Google I/O earlier this year. Google is also expected to officially announce the 32GB Nexus 7. Just so coincidentally October 29 is actually the launch date for Windows Phone 8. Windows Phone 8 will be launching in San Francisco so there will be a time gap there. Google should be quite confident about what they are announcing as the last time they had an event a same day as a WP event it failed pretty badly.
