This is episode 1 of the CES 2013 recap and we will do quite a few recaps in the course of the week. This episode will focus on the new things which has been announced at the pre CES events. Just a friendly reminder that you can find all of the news about CES 2013 here. In the course of these few days there has bee quite an amount of big news and i am admitting that there are some news stories which we have not yet covered. We started off the pre CES announcements with Nvidia on Sunday where they announced the Tegra 4 and Project Shield. Then the day after that was LG's turn and they showcased their 4K OLED Tv's with some pretty nifty features. They also announced their connected home appliances which work together and additionally an exec mentioned that LG will be launching new smartphones in MWC late next month, so stay tuned for that. Then after that was Huawei's press conference in which they announced the Huawei Ascend Mate, Ascend D and the W1. In intel's press briefing they officially announced the Haswell platform and said that the 4th gen chips have a TDP as low as 10w to accompany tablets. They also said that all haswell ultrabooks must have widi technology and a touchscreen implemented on to it. Then came the big one which was from Samsung in which they unveiled two new high end TV sets and one of them has an all new never seen before TV design. Later in the day it was Sony's turn and they dropped the bomb and announced the Xperia Z & ZL which was just two very magnificent looking devices. The day ended with Qualcomm's CES 2013 opening keynote which they are replacing Microsoft for the first time this year. The keynote started with some songs by Maroon 5 and in the middle of the keynote Steve Ballmer made an appearance and said that WP sales in the holiday season was 5X better than the previous year. Continuing that Qualcomm also announced their new lineup of mobile processors. So this is about it for this episode of the CES 2013 recap. Stay tuned for the next episode which will come tomorrow.
