Samsung Working On A 7" Galaxy Note Which Is Sporting A 1280 X 800 Resolution, A Supersized Galaxy Note I

Last year samsung bridged the gap between a phone and a tablet with the introduction of the Galaxy Note, they also made a whole new category called phablets which are basically half phone half tablet. Since then they have released a newer version Galaxy Note and a 10 inch Galaxy Note. So now the only thing needed to complete the family is to have a 7-8" version. A few days back there was some leaks of a GT-N5100 tablet which was being certified for wifi. Now following the DLNA certification it shows that this sub 7" tablet has a 1280 X 800 resolution which is pretty common for 7" tablets. This 7" Galaxy Note is expected to feature the S Pen and android 4.1. We might see this early next year either at CES or MWC.

Cortex A50 Part Of The ARMv8 And Now Supports 64 bit Processing

The mobile smartphone world is now hot and is growing at a steady rate and the growth rate is overtaking the PC growth rate. One of the key items in a modern smartphone is the processor which powers the phone. There are many companies making mobile processors like Samsung, Qualcomm, Texas Intruments, and many more. One of the similarities that there manufacturers all use in common is the architecture it is on. Most off the companies are using the ARM architecture but some companies like Apple choose to develop theirs based on their own architecture design aspect. Currently most smartphones this date are rocking the ARMv7 architecture which include the cortex A9, A15, A5 and many more. Now it seems like the ARMv8 is ready to meet with smartphones and AMD is going to be the first to use this new architecture. The Cortex A50 is based on the 64 bit architecture and there are two versions of architecture ready which is the A53 and the A57. Chips based on this new architecture are expected to be manufactured in the 28nm or 20nm manufacturing process. Chips based on this new architecture are expected to be out in 2014.

Android 4.2 Jellybean Gesture Keyboard Now Available For Download

One of the most notable features in Android 4.1 Jellybean was the keyboard which is super responsive and has the best autocorrecting out there. In android 4.3 Google updated the keyboard to support gesture typing which is like the SWYPE keyboard. Currently we still do not know when the Android 4.2 update will be available to other Nexus phones but my bet is on November 13 because that is the day the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 will be on sale. If you can't wait for the update to use the keyboard there is always APK files. Here are the links for the APK files; there are two files, one for non rooted and one for rooted, so if the non rooter version is now installing use the rooted version and flash the APK file.

Nokia Patent Might Be The Reason Why The Multiple User Feature On Android 4.2 Is Not Supported By Mobile Phones

On Monday Google officially announce the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 10 and those two new nexus devices are the first tablet and phone to run the latest version of android, Android 4.2. Android 4.2 brings some totally new features to android and one of the feature is the multiple user features which allows your tablet to have multiple user support, so you can share your tablet amongst few people. This feature in particular only works on android tablets running android 4.2 so the phone is left without this feature. But there could be a logical explanation behind this. This might be because of Nokia's patent which Google might infringe in adding the multiple user support on mobile devices.
A mobile telephone is designed to be used by several different end-users at different times. A first end-user can alter the mobile telephone so that it operates in a manner specific to that first end-user and a subsequent end-user can alter the mobile telephone so that it operates in a manner specific to that subsequent end-user; each end-user has only to respond to prompts displayed on a screen in order to alter the mobile telephone so that it operates in a manner specific to that end-user.
But this problem can be solved by Google paying royalties to Nokia like what Apple did so they can use the huge library of patents Nokia owns

Windows 8 Store Now Home To Over 10,000 Apps

Just recently the Play Store has reached over 700,000 apps and the Windows Phone store has reached 120,000 over apps last month. Today a new report shows that the Windows 8 store is now home to over 10,000 apps and at the rate it is going at now 500 apps are added every single day. This number is expected to go even higher as adoption for Windows 8 is growing and more and more developers are coming on board. I won't be surprised to hear if the Windows 8 store reaches over 100,000 apps early next year as Steve Ballmer said that by next year there will be over 500 million windows 8 devices sold.

Google Play Store Has Now Over 700,000 Apps, Finally On Par With The App Store

Yes, the day has finally arrived, Google has announced that the Play Store is now home to over 700,000 apps and that is a major achievement for them. Also the Play Store has finally reached the point where it is on par with the total amount of apps on Apple's app store. The main reason why the Play Store could reach such phenomenal amount of apps in a short period of time is that the apps which are published are not processed by Google. Well we can also say that some of the apps on the Play Store are not having good quality and does not take full support of the hardware. But all in all Apple still reign in the amount of iPad/tablet apps which is exceeding 275,000.

iPad 4 Smokes The iPad 3 In Benchmarks, Some Serious Power Under The Hood

Last week Apple did something out of the ordinary by introducing the iPad 4 6 months after the iPad 3. The iPad 4 has the new lightning connector and that new A6X chip and other than that it is pretty much the same tablet. So what is the performance difference between the iPad 4 and the iPad 3, here are the benchmark scores of it and the iPad 4 is 111% faster than the iPad 3 which means that is some serious amount of power under the hood. The A6X chip scored 200 more points compared to the A6 chip on the iPhone 5. The A6X is a dual core CPU clocked at 1.4GHz and has quad core graphics. Also the iPad 4 has 1GB of RAM, all this combined will make the iPad 4 faster than its predecessor.

Android 4.2 Jellybean, The New Features

Yesterday Google officially announced the Nexus and Nexus 10 ahead of the Windows Phone 8 launch and those two devices were the first to run Android 4.2 Jellybean. In android 4.2 Google has added some new features as well as some updated ones. Google Now has been updated and now gives you more info before you even ask.
The biggest new feature in android 4.2 is the photo sphere camera which enables you to take 360 degree photos right from your phone or tablet. This feature is particularly similar to the Photosynth lens found in Windows Phone 8.
The jellybean keyboard has been well know to have excellent autocorrecting features but in android 4.2 Google adds a new feature to the keyboard called gesture typing. It is basically a swype keyboard built right into the Jellybean keyboard. So now you can type faster with super precise words.
The multiple user feature on android 4.2 tablets are particularly useful because now you can share your tablet with another person. This feature is similar to Windows multiple user so this feature is ready to take on windows 8 tablets. You can easily switch to different users from the lock screen.
This new feature on android 4.2 called daydream now allows you to put screensavers when your device is either docked or idle. This feature reminds us a lot about the old windows where screensavers are always there.
Finally the last new feature is in android 4.2 mirroring to your HDTV has never been easier with support for wireless displays now. All you have to do is connect a wireless display adapter to a HDMI enabled TV to enjoy the quick and easy screen mirroring. To find out more click here
