A few weeks back Samsung announce a special olympic edition of the Galaxy Note. Now they have released a olympic edition of the official london 2012 smartphone and also Samsung's flagship phone. This version is not the same one as what Samsung is giving athletes which are participating. The one given to the athletes have Visa's payWave which allow athletes to easily purchase things in the olympic village and other places just by waving their phone (and entering a pass code for purchases over 20 GBP). The Galaxy S III olympic edition is olympic themed and has a london themed back cover. The specs of the olympic edition is the same as the International Galaxy S III but still no LTE. The design of this phone is pretty well thought out they even bundled the phone with a little figurine of a Royal Guard soldier that plugs into the device's 3.5mm earphone jack and doesn't have any function except to look cool. Additionally there are three figurines that come with a Union Jack stand representing three sports that are seen in the Summer Olympics: cycling, weight lifting and Tae Kwon Do. Pebble Blue or Garnet Red (at AT&T only) colors are also offered, the Summer Olympic Games edition can be purchased with a Union Jack or Royal Guard soldier theme. The device has special Royal Guard soldier wallpaper you can load on the phone. There are even special cases with the London Summer Olympics theme available. Currently this is only in sale at Taiwan.
