Last Week we heard that Meego has stopped development and most of the employees left the company. Then a few days later the group of employees which left Nokia formed a company by the name of Jolla Mobile. Then today Nokia sent a heartwarming gift to Jolla Mobile which is MeeGo patents. To now there is not much information about which patents were transferred. Jolla founder, Jussi Hurmola, said the two companies have a “good and open relationship.” The company described the project by saying, “Nokia will offer training, funding, and help identify business opportunities and partnerships for those interested in starting a new business or a company on their own, which can fuel new growth for impacted communities.” Hurmola said that they might launch their first device by the end of 2012.
