Intel Core i7 3970X Arriving In Q4 2012

Last year intel announced the Sandy Bridge-E enthusiast platform alongside with the X79 chipset and LGA 2011. To date there is only 3 Sandy Bridge-E Core i7 processors. The highest end Core i7 which is the i7 3960X cost $999 and for that price you only have 6 cores which has a turbo freq of up to 3.9GHz. However the 3960X is ready to be replaced with the i7 3970X which will be arriving in Q4 2012 based on a DonanimHaber report. This new flagship processor is expected to ship with a clock speed of 3.50GHz and a turbo of 4.00GHz. That is a 100Mhz increase in turbo clock speed. Other specifications are similar to the 3960X and it is most likely be the same price as the current i7 3960X.
"These are the times where i feel like asking intel why don't just make and Ivy Bridge-E processor instead"
