Amazon held their Kindle Fire event this morning and at the event they announced new devices like the kindle fire HD and also upgraded the old kindle with better hardware. The old kindle will be upgraded to have a better processor, double the ram, better battery life and will retail for only $159 on September 14. The two ne products introduced by amazon is the Kindle Fire HD which comes in two sizes 7.0" and 8.9". The 7"model has a 1280 X 800 screen resolution and the processor inside the device is a TI OMAP4470 which is clocked at 1.5GHz. The processor also has a separate graphics core which is the PowerVR SXG544. The 8.9" version has the same hardware specification of the 7" variant but the only difference is the resolution which is pretty high at 1920 X 1200 which translates to a 254 PPI. The display on the new kindle fire HD now has 25% lesser glare and full spectrum of colors can be viewed at all angles. The sound one the kindle fire HD is provided by dolby digital plus and is paired up with two exclusive speakers. The old feature present on the kindle fire will also be on the kindle fire HD. There is a new feature called X-ray for movies which you can touch at some part of a movie and find out who is the actor acting in that particular part. The new kindle fire has syncing capabilities with whispersync and after you sync with it you will be able to continue where you stopped in a movie regardless what device are you on. There is also a mode called free time which is for children to use and to restrict access to certain place only. There is also a HD front facing camera on both devices. Facebook and Skype is one of the new applications on the kindle fire HD. The 7" model will launch on September 14 for $199 and the 8.9" model will be available on September 20 for $299. There is also another 8.9" variant which has 4G LTE and 32GB of internal storage, the device will retail at $449 and will be available on September 20.
