Today Asrock officially launched their Z77 OC Formula motherboard which features premium quality components and is aimed at overclockers. The Z77 OC Formula has a 12 + 4 Digi Power VRM Design and this board has a 8 and 4 pin EPS power connector. The motherboard is built with high quality components consisting of Premium Alloy Choke (PAC), Dual-Stack MOSFET (DSM), Multiple Filter Cap (MFC) and an 8 Layer PCB design which provides additional stability. The VRM cooling of this is using a twin power cooling design which combines air cooling and passive cooling with water cooling. Asrock also provided GELID GC-Extreme Thermal Compound with this motherboard in the package for use with the processor. Like all Z77 boards this motherboard has 4 dimm slots which can support up to 32GB or RAM in dual channel. The memory can be overclocked to 3GHz+ and supports intel's XMP memory profile (1.2/1.3). There are 3 PCI-E 3.0 X16 slots and 2 PCI-E X1 slots, this board supports SLI and Crossfire. There are 10 SATA ports, which 2 of them are SATA 3 and the other 6 are SATA 2. The rear I/O includes a PS/2 Mouse/Keyboard combo Port, HDMI out, Optical SPDIF Out, 4 ready-to-Use USB 2.0 Ports, 6 ready-to-Use USB 3.0 Ports, RJ-45 LAN, Clear CMOS Switch with LEDHD, and 7.1 Audio. This board will be available in selected regions for $239.99 , for more details head on over to the Asrock's website. When i first looked at this board a few months back i instantly thought of the Asus Maximus V Formula which had the hybrid VRM cooling. But still Asus is still somehow Asrock's parent company even after they split.
